Phenix Farms, Inc. was incorporated in 1994, farming a little over 2,000 acres. In the fall of 2005 the construction of our current shop was started, it was finished in the spring of 2006. In the past 18 years the farm has added Custom Forage Harvesting in 2006, Custom Manure Pumping and Spreading in 2010, and our recent addition Custom Pump & Power Unit Fabrication in 2011. As of 2015 we will custom harvest over 5,000 acres of corn in Indiana and Michigan, along with approximately 3,000 acres of haylage every cutting.

Randal E. Plummer:


      Randal, founder of Phenix Farms, Inc. was born in 1948 To Howard and Glenna (Hall) Plummer. He originally moved here with his family from Van Buren, Indiana. He attended Petroleum High School, and graduated in 1966. He then, furthered his education in Ag Mechanization at Purdue University; his intentions were to enter the work field for a large machine building company. Although, there were not any jobs available, Randal then decided to purchase a fertilizer plant and specialized in custom ammonia applications. As he continued to increase his custom work, he decided to sell the plant and began farming his own land, along with purchasing his own tractor in 1975. Randal and his wife Linda (Fluke) were married in 1968 and have 4 biological children and 1 foster son. Their youngest son Darrick Plummer is the Vice President of Phenix Farms, Inc. While being the proud President, Randal also operates machinery and supervises. 

Darrick E. Plummer:
Vice President

     Darrick was born in Wells County Indiana in 1977; he graduated from Southern Wells Jr/Sr High School in 1995. He then furthered his education at Purdue University in Construction Management graduating in 1998. Moving to Indianapolis, in 1996 Darrick began working for Turner Construction as the Assistant Supervisor of Construction for a collegiate football stadium renovation. Then he began working for Centex Homes from 1998 until 2001 were he was a field manager closing over 450 homes. He also trained 4 assistant field managers. Darrick then moved back to Wells in 2001 and began working for Phenix Farms, Inc, while working here he also ran his own construction company building decks and doing remodels on nights and weekends. In 2004 he was promoted to Vice President of Phenix Farms, Inc. Darrick has 2 daughters.

Linda J. (Fluke) Plummer: 


     Linda was born in Wells County in 1949; she graduated from Norwell High School in 1968 and married Randal E. Plummer the same year. They have 4 biological children and 1 foster son. Linda furthered her education at Purdue University and in 1971 obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked at Cooper’s Nursing Home from 1971-1977, she than began working at Wells Community Hospital until 1990. During the 90’s Linda worked for Hospice and worked seasonally at Community Migrant Health in Bluffton, until she began working as a Public Health Nurse Surveyor for the State of Indiana.

Kylie Rector:

Office Manager

Kylie was born in Wells County Indiana in 1979. She moved to Noble County as a small child, and graduated from East Noble High School in 1997. She moved to the Indianapolis area in 2002.  In 2015, she moved back to Wells County to raise her 3 boys on the family farm.  Kylie is Phenix Farms, Inc Office Manger.
